She’s the fifth female vocalist for the band since the band in 2005 started playing their fresh sounding symphonic metal. Fresh because when closely listened one can hear swirls of melodic death metal, folk metal and a whole lot of power (metal). Scarleth’s latest album dates back from 2015 so that’s without Ekaterina on vocals, in fact, she can’t be heard on any official release so far beside live video’s released by the band.
I’ve heard some rumors about a new upcoming full-length album for Scarleth. Can you tell us a little more about it?
Yes. It will be surprising for many of you, I think. We’ve experimented with the sound of the songs, tuned guitars on some of the tracks even lower so you will experience
the new and fresh cocktail of all which Scarleth is capable of, plus much more! We are still in the writing process, hope to finish all of the songs this year and enter the studio soon.
What will bring 2018 for Scarleth besides the possible new album?
We plan to visit new countries this summer. Also, you can expect us to film the new official music video – we plan to release a single or two before full-length release.

When did you start with singing and why did you want to sing?
I’ve started singing in my early childhood. I’ve sung different songs being just a little girl. Πt the age of 10, I went to vocal lessons and realized that I always wanted to be a part
of the world of music. And now my relationship with music is more serious and lasting.
Who influenced you the most at the beginning of your career and who are your current favorites?
It was my vocal teacher. She taught me how to feel the music and live a small life in every song. I worked with her 11 years, lessons were three times a week. I’ve learned to sing jazz classics and Whitney Houston songs. Then my tastes have changed dramatically. At first, it was like a youthful rebellion. But then I realized that it was something more. The favorites were Within Temptation, Nightwish, The Pretty Reckless. And then I slowly started to watch the live concerts of Rammstein and other metal bands π
As for now, I like the style of Alissa from Arch Enemy and I respect Jinjer and listen to them with pleasure.
What other types of music would you like to sing?
This is the moment in my life when I feel I do not want to change anything. I am connected with melodic metal by bonds of love and nothing can change this.
Although sometimes I sing songs of Adele and Sia in karaoke π These pop singers cling to my soul. I can feel their songs so much.
What is the highlight of your career?
The highlight is to knock on people’s hearts with music. To look into the eyes and see the response. Often I look at the work in Scarleth through the eyes of an actress.
Many songs have a deep meaning. Sometimes I imagine that I’m an actress in a play. I like to get used to the role of heroines of the Scarleth songs. The girl-fighter, seducing girl,
the girl who lives in the virtual world, the slave girl, the hero-girl, the ghost girl. Real souls with their own special destiny are living in our songs.
I like to revive them on stage for our fans.
What was the funniest moment in your career?
I can tell you about the latest funny moment π This incident happened at the Ukrainian rock festival “Taras Bulba”. Two guards argued for money when they watched my performance. The theme of the dispute was my legs. One security guard proved to the other that I have tattoos on my legs. The second security guard proved to the first that these are stockings. In the end, they’ve asked the festival organizer to resolve their dispute. To do this, he had to ask me this delicate question right after our performance. Turning to the guards, I said that these were just unusual pantyhose. Below the tights they were black, and above the hips were beige. Sorry, I can’t find the photo from that event to show you :))
Tips for people who want to start singing like you do?
The main thing is not to sing like someone. Do not copy others. If you sing the song – sing it as you, show your personality.
Do not afraid to start your journey. Try to find yourself in music style which satisfies you the most – and then progress, always. Remember that music loves experiments.
