Q&A with Andelina from Jenner

Jenner became active in 2013 and AnÄ‘elina has done the vocals since then with this all-female speed/thrash metal band from Serbia.

After a digital two-song demo in 2015 Jenner released their debut album TO LIVE IS TO SUFFER in February 2017 through Inferno Records and it was made available as a CD and cassette tape, both limited to 1000 copies each. Although Jenner started as a heavy metal band the sound developed itself into a more speed metal sound with thrash influences in it and filled with old school vibes.

When did you start with singing and why did you want to sing?
I remember I was about 4 years old when I got a toy microphone as a gift. Since then I couldn’t stop singing, it was such fun for me and still is. And it makes me happy.

Who influenced you the most at the beginning of your career and who are your current favorites?
I think I was influenced by Agent Steel and Anthrax, maybe because I really like melodic vocals. My current favorites are Danzig and Black Label Society, but it depends on my mood.

What other types of music would you like to sing?
I would actually like to sing songs from Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston haha because I also love genres like R&B and pop of the ’80s and ’90s.

What is the highlight of your career?
Difficult to say. Perhaps it was when we performed live in front of several thousand people in Zajecar for the first time.

What was the funniest moment in your career?
Every moment is funny with those girls.

Tips for people who want to start singing like you do?
Singing and being in a band is really a journey and sometimes it’s hard. You need to find your voice, practice and enjoy what you do and you might be the best.
