Well, The Inferno Doll did it, with her EP Sacrifice she’s placed herself among other albums that will be forever played at my house, this shit is incredible!
Mental Circus has the tough job to impress us with their music after The Inferno Doll but they do it with real ease, I’m impressed by their Modern Metal. Cast your Stones is a single from the upcoming album Freaks of Nature that will be released somewhere in the summer of 2021 and I’m looking forward to it.
Living Dead Girl presents the fourth single, Poltergeist, taken from the almost released debut album Exorcism. Almost released as it will happen June 11 and I’m looking forward to that date as all four songs impressed the fuck out of me. Check out the interview I did with Living Dead Girl‘s singer Molly HERE.
Tulip from the US is going to release a 6 track concept EP called The Witch and Sidewinder is the first single from it. I was already blown away by their 2020 album High Strangeness because their blend of Symphonic and Groove is something you don’t hear every day so I’m eagerly awaiting the next single.
Erain from Sweden confused me, their YouTube channel stated that the band was formed in February 2021 but as I always do a deep dive on bands I found an EP from 2013 from the band and another YouTube channel. It turns out that Erain has been resurrected by its original founder Johan Holmström and this time with Frida Gradin on vocals. Judgement is the second single from them and a couple more are in the making so stay tuned with them.
Arcane Existence took me by surprise, I was expecting Symphonic Death/Black Metal cause it said so in the title but I wasn’t expecting it to be this good. On August 20 the band will release its second full-length album Colossus from which Sovereign Blood is the first single. Amazing song and looking forward to hearing the album.
Windrunner from Vietnam also surprised me, Cyan is their latest single and comes with a cool animated video. The Metalcore from the five-piece changed actually quite a lot since their album from 2018 probably due to new band members and a new vocalist who has a more lush kinda way of singing. The Progressive Metalcore is still there but the amount of atmosphere increased immensely which is a positive thing.
Progressive Metallers Fireproven from Finland released a new single, Waves of Extinction. Vocalist Sanna Solanterä shows with this song what a versatile singer she is, soft cleans, high cleans, and low and high growls and it all fits perfectly within the song. Fireproven seems to be getting better with each release as Waves of Extinction is a fantastic song.
Yes, a new Chaos Rising song and I’m getting some Fear Factory vibes here from their early years as Chaos Rising made with Normalize a hard-hitting and crusty Industrial song. Normalize is created by Stéphanie Nolf and Catherine Fearns and I think it’s cool that the project comes up with songs in different genres each month. Stay tuned for next month, I’m curious what it will be like.
