Nine songs for your listening pleasure, today’s post is filled with new music varying from Atmospheric Doom to Punk and Rock so check it out and support the bands. If available, the songs are added to the Loud Unity Spotify playlist. Make sure to follow as it is updated on an almost daily basis.
Sombria‘s album Chirographon Dei from 2020 is still on heavy rotation at my house, the dreamy Gothic Dark Metal is something I just can’t resist listening to so it was a pleasant surprise that a new single from them appeared on YouTube. Tired is a cover from Schiller and to be honest, I had no idea who that was so I looked him up and it turns out to be a German electronic music project that creates some wonderful tunes and Sombria really nailed it with their version, absolutely beautiful.
Cool, this was one of my favorite radio songs back in 1986, Rock the Night from Europe, the song holds some sweet memories for me. The Big Deal is a new band on the Melodic Hardrock front and got signed by Frontiers Records. The band from Serbia is currently working on their debut album and in the meantime, they recorded this cover. Stay tuned for more news about the debut album.
Rosa Nocturna went all in and made a massive video production for the song Of Love, of War, of Blood, a song that is taken from their album Za hradbami času but re-recorded with English lyrics and almost 3 minutes longer than its original. The band started out as a Symphonic Metal band but slowly more and more Folk elements came into their music and their latest album from November 2020, Andělé a bestie, can best be described as Symphonic Folk Metal.
I and my Ego is a project by Mary Dicentra from Russia and she is releasing music since 2017, mostly singles but an EP, We are all Mad here, appeared in 2019, and after that more singles from which Follow the Steps of Your Fears being the latest. Musically it can be placed under the Alternative Metal banner and I had a listen to her older music and she definitely developed and improved her own style. Would be cool if one day there will be a full album, the music deserves it.
Psychic Hit is exactly that what the name tells you, a psychedelic musical hit in your face. Old school Rock/Metal with modern lyrics and California Burnin is taken from the upcoming EP Solutio, out July 9 via Seeing Red Records. On the Bandcamp page from Psychic Hit, another song can be listened and based on these two songs I can say that the EP will be a real banger.
Mama Doom released back in 2018 the album From Blue to Bone and I was already impressed with that album but what I hear now with the single Oh, Lucifer is outstanding, the band took a huge leap forwards without betraying their Occult Doom roots. The single is taken off their upcoming sophomore album Ash Bone Skin N Stone out on July 23 via Majestic Mountain Records. If you want it on vinyl you better hurry up as it is almost sold out.
Modern Punk from Witch Fever and they have signed to Music for Nations and it’s a bit embarrassing from me cause I thought that Music for Nations was long gone but apparently, the label was reincarnated by Sony Music in 2015 so now Witch Fever are label mates with some of the biggest names in Metal History, how cool is that? Reincarnate is the latest single and probably more will follow, I’ll be awaiting them.
King Woman‘s second full-length is on its way and I couldn’t be happier about it. Already a fan since the 2014 EP Doubt, became an even bigger fan in 2017 with the debut album Created in the Image of Suffering and now Celestial Blues, out July 30 via Relapse Records, is already making me happy with its first single.
Ison is the band for you if you dig deep atmospheric music with heavenly voices, the fourth album Aurora is set to be released on June 25, and from the three songs I heard so far, it’s going to be an amazing album. Guest vocals from Sylvaine, Cammie Gilbert (Oceans of Slumber), Tara Vanflower (Lycia), Vila, Carline van Roos (Lethian Dreams), Gogo Melone (Aeonian Sorrow), Viola Petsch, and Lisa Cuthbert.
