I thought the band named themselves after a disease but no, apparently it has something to do with the American animator Tex Avery who created Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck among others. Brilliant and funny cartoons and the same can be said for The Tex Avery Syndrome except for the funny part cause the band sounds pretty mean to me due to the sick growls from Laura G. who has some nice cleans also. Modern Metal never sounded so good!
Boneyard started out as a cover project but begun writing their own music and as a result we now have Oathbreaker, the debut album from Boneyard. The band has its base in Canada and have been crafting their Hardrock since 2015 and now the mighty Wormholedeath label has released this little Hardrock gem called Oathbreaker.
I just found out that I never featured Rolo Tomassi on Loud Unity before so justice has to be done, here is the crushing and atmospheric new song Cloaked from Rolo Tomassi.
I’m not the only one with a broad musical taste. Evan Linger from Skeletonwitch and Julia Gaeta who was a guitarist for Albez Duz teamed up and produced some excellent Post-punk/Darkwave. Two songs are out who will be released on tape in the nearby future so stay tuned for that with Dreamwheel.
Some Dark Electronics we have here from Veronica Campbell who has a long track record when it comes to compose and performing in the Post-punk and Deathrock scene. Under the banner Death Loves Veronica she has her own solo project and with this Veronica goes back to the 80s and 90s when Electronic Industrial/New Wave emerged on the surface. Good stuff, the other song from this single will be released on August 31.
Cool, The Hellfreaks inked a deal with Napalm Records but we have to wait till summer 2022 before their new full-length will be released. But a new single is here and its a killer, summer 2022 seems so far away now.
Scelleus from Slovakia confused me a bit, i never heard the name before but the band’s music sounded very familiar to me so I dug a little deeper and found out that Scelleus was formerly know as SpiriT. Scelleus creates very raw Progressive Metal that sometimes goes a little over the top when it comes to the rawness cause Miroslava’s extreme singing would fit perfectly in any Black Metal band. I like it but I can imagine that it is not everyone’s cup of tea. The song Lullaby to Your Dirty Soul is taken from an album with the same name that the band released recently.
Seawitch from Australia is a new Rock band with lyrics that deal with Witchcraft and that’s not strange as Seawitch is fronted by Fiona Horne who wrote many books on arcane mysteries and modern magick. Seawitch released their S/T debut EP via The Manick Label on limited vinyl. Digitally the EP will be released song by song for over four months and Initiate is the second song that’s been released so far so two more to go. I’ll await them eagerly.
Dizorder dropped their debut album Sky//light at the end of 2020 and recently released an official video for the title track. Because i really liked the somewhat tone of desperation in Chloé’s screams I gave the whole album a spin and, OMG, it’s an amazing album. Dizorder is another great find!
