El Puerto Records have a real gem here, I wasn’t aware of the German based Mission in Black before until someone advised me to give this first single from their upcoming second album Profit Reigns Supreme a listen. Best advice ever as Mission in Black is since then constantly on repeat over here. What a killer song they have with What does it take to be alive. Profit Reigns Supreme will be out on May 12th 2023.

And also from Germany are Lyshka whom delivers some excellent Progressive Metalcore. Hellish Heights is the second new single after their debut EP Golden back in 2019. I really dig how the vocals from Sarah, grunts and cleans, fits into the music as if it’s also an instrument.

More Eastwards and we end up in Poland where we meet with Datura, an Atmospheric Post Metal band fronted by Maja Rutkowska. It’s the first time I hear music from them, but they have a new fan, I really dig Metal like this and the way Datura does it is just insanely good! Ether seems to be a song from an upcoming album, I can’t wait to hear more from that. Datura released last December a self-titled EP, which will satisfy my appetite until the new album arrives.

And now we go all the way to Australia, where we see Wicked Envy having fun on stage. They dropped a life footage video for Frantic, which is taken from their 2022 album What the Hell am I doing. I love this type of Hardrock, it’s powerful and just sheer fun to listen to it, one cannot listen to it without tapping along with it.

From Australia, we’re heading off to Brazil to hook up with Death Metallers Invisible Control, who are producing some very good Death Metal with the distinctive vocals from Daniela Serafim who I know from the 2011 album from Autopse. Already impressed by her grunts back then, even more impressed now when I hear her grunts coming out of the top of her lungs.

And we end up in France where we are introduced to a genre which I personally never heard of before, Rockcore. But whatever, NEwTT is interesting as fuck, their blend of Hardcore and Rock combined with some Hip Hop influences makes them the perfect band to end this mixtape.
