Eva Under Fire did a damn fine job with their cover of War Pigs from the mighty Black Sabbath. If a band can capture the true essence and sound into a cover version, then you are top-notch.
Legendary Holy Moses from Germany has Sabina Classen on vocals, and she is one of the trailblazers when it comes to woman in extreme music. Back in 1981 she became the vocalist for Holy Moses and with their new album Invisible Queen that just recently was released via Fireflash Records, the band has their thirteenth album out.
Dreamyth also just recently released an album, but it is their debut full-length. Aletheia is out on Rockshots Records and the Spanish band had the opportunity to do a song with guest vocals from Ralf Scheepers from Primal Fear. Melodic Power Metal from Spain at its best.
NOA (Never Obey Again) has dropped its second single, Wake Up. The band from Italy brings a fresh combination of electronics and major heavy riffs and has with Carolina Bertelegni a vocalist who fits the music in both parts. I’m impressed by this band and will for sure follow them.
Jemiina from Swansong has lent her brutal voice for the second single from Nordic Twilight called Winter Swan. And with the operatic clean vocals from Minna Tuusa it creates the perfect balance between darkness and light. Another band I’m impressed by.
Whoeaa, The Way of Purity takes me back to the 90ies when Gothic Metal emerged on the surface. Listening to Sidetrack, taken from their upcoming album The Order of The Deep Roots, out on May 26th via Wormholedeath Records makes me think of bands such as Theatre of Tragedy and The 3rd and the Mortal when I heard them for the first time. Looking forward to the release of The Order of The Deep Roots.
